Assess manufacturing technology on technical and economic criteria
Before you invest in scanners, printers or new machines, I work with you to establish what your process actually needs.
What I handle
- Clarify requirements: component, quantity, frequency of use and responsibility within the company
- Check suitability: conventional, additive or hybrid, on the actual component
- Assess effort: investment, familiarisation, training and operating costs
- Make-or-buy: what stays in-house, what is shared and what goes to partners
Component, process and bottleneck
The starting point is your specific task, not a machine in a catalogue. I clarify function, quality requirements, quantities and variants, deadlines and the current workflow.
- What rework and scrap occur today?
- What data is missing, and who can resolve those gaps?
Requirements and alternatives
I compare technically suitable routes against the same requirements: existing conventional manufacturing, additive processes, combinations and external partners. Quality, availability and potential downtime matter alongside staffing and training needs.
Total costs including implementation
Preparation, software, maintenance, operation, post-processing, inspection and training add to the purchase cost. I distinguish supported figures from assumptions and check whether assumed utilisation fits available capacity and other work.
Make-or-buy and deciding against investment
In-house production is not automatically the best solution. Tasks can remain in-house, go to partners or be shared. A targeted retrofit, retaining the process or making no new purchase are also possible recommendations.
Process Check outcome and scope
You can commission a reasoned recommendation with assumptions, required actions and next verification steps. We agree the scope in advance, for example through a Process Check.
