Select and combine processes

Drawing on my experience in precision mechanics, prototype construction and mechanical engineering, I assess when conventional, additive or combined processes make sense.

From function to the complete process chain

Function and quality come first. We then assess geometry, material, batch size and deadlines. Preparation, post-processing and inspection belong to the whole chain, not just a later cost calculation.

The bearing bridge is designed as a welded assembly of plasma-cut parts. The steering-knuckle casting pattern combines geometries with machining allowance. In the Jeep, printing resolves a specific interface rather than the entire structure.

Assess processes

  • Material
  • Accuracy
  • Quantity
  • Effort
  • Subsequent changes

I weigh up advantages and disadvantages for your application, consider existing machinery and bring in expertise from my network where needed.
